10.15.10Finding the Furniture You've Seen in Magazines
We recently got an email from a reader who said, “My husband refuses to give up his bachelor days furniture. How can I get him to get rid of this stuff and replace it with new furniture?”
This is a common issue. And no one likes to drag around a partner who isn’t excited about spending some time looking for the right mutual pieces.
We say give him an incentive to go shopping for new furniture. Maybe do some of the legwork and research to make shopping easier by giving him decisions that already have been narrowed down. That way he won't be so intimidated by the furniture stores.
He'll thank you in the end because he will love the comfort of the new furniture without having had to “suffer” through hours of aimless wandering through stores -- and you'll appreciate the updated look.
